Need Prayer

8 Tips to Improve Your Prayer Life PRAYER BASICS Do you know that prayer changes things? Prayer is how we keep an ongoing relationship with God. If you or someone you know needs prayer, fill out the form , and we will place you on Pastor Skinner's prayer list. In the meantime, find you a quiet room in your house and begin your 1 on 1 relationship with God by speaking to Him exactly what is on your heart. GOD HAS ALREADY MADE THE ANSWERS TO YOUR PRAYER AVAILABLE FOR YOU It is important to understand that through the finished works of Jesus Christ, God has already made available everything that we will ever want, need or ask for in this Life. 2 Peter 1:3 tell us, "His divine power has given us to us all things that pertain to life and Godliness..." Because of this, we are believing with you that whether your request is for healing, finances, family, restoration, etc...that it is already a done deal in Jesus' name. ASK IN JESUS' NAME Jesus tells us in John 14:13-14 that "...whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in my name, I will do it."Jesus gives us some important instructions concerning approaching God when we pray. So make sure the things you want done in your life are asked for in the mighty name of Jesus. CRYING AND SHOUTING WON'T INCREASE THE POWER OF YOUR PRAYER God is not deaf or even hard of hearing. Lol. As a result, when we yell and scream at God, we are not getting Him to move any faster on our behalf. Our emotions don't move God. Our faith moves God. In other words, when you make your prayer requests known to God and then begin applying faith to what you are believing for, God will move on your behalf. DO YOUR PRAYERS LINE UP WITH GOD'S WORD? Make sure your prayers align with God's Word. It's important to understand that He will not go outside of His already-established system to answer our prayers. So for example, if you are praying that some man or woman gets divorced so they can be with you, you can't expect God to honor that. Or if you get mad at someone and ask God to kill them...lol. Why? Because that violates His Word. So make sure your prayer requests are wholesome and positive. APPLY FAITH TO YOUR PRAYERS Hebrews 1:11 defines faith as the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of unseen things. So when you pray, you must also take action to what you're praying for. Faith without works is dead. So, if you believe in healing, an example of applying your faith to your healing is speaking to others in advance about how God will show up. An example of putting your faith to work is taking your dieting/exercising to another level. These things will get God's attention to move in your life. REMOVE ALL FEAR The biggest chemical contamination in our faith is fear. The enemy uses this to attack your confidence and keep you from walking into God's best for your life. FEAR CANCELS OUT FAITH It doesn't matter how hard you pray or how much you decree. If you allow fear to grip what you're believing for, then expect nothing to happen in that prayer area.
