Message from Pastor Skinner
June and July are usually the times for vacations and “staycations”. For those of you who have managed to take some time from your regular routine of busy work, business work or just the routine of being at home and managing your household, family and responsibilities. I hope you have had the opportunity to get away from worry and responsibilities to find a place for rest, care-free living and enjoyment, even if that place
is at home in our own backyard or house. God wants us to take time from our normal outine to rest, rejuvenate and retreat from our daily labor to focus on ourselves, family and faith. Frequently, Jesus withdrew from His disciples to rest, pray and recharge. In Mark 6:31, Jesus told His disciples to “come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest”. Vacationing or resting is important for you spiritually and physically; it can help to rejuvenate, relax and restore you. But remember, as you go on vacation, take Jesus with you. Always find that time daily to pray, read your bible and have daily devotion. While most of our regular bible study sessions are on pause for the summer vacation, we will continue virtual Wednesday Evening Bible Study each Wednesday at 7:00 pm (dial in at 805-706-5490). Please continue to pray for each other and those in our church and community who are suffering loss and bereavement.
