Message from retired Pastor Johnnie W. Skinner, Sr.
Be Faithful!
Being faithful to what God has called you to do and to be in not easy in this generation. “Be thou faithful until death” is the word given to us in the Scriptures. We are to be faithful in worshiping, in witnessing and in our giving. “Forsake not the assembly of yourselves together” we are told in the Scriptures. Obedience is the key to faithful living for Christ. Be obedient and thus you will be faithful. We must keep doing God’s will.
God calls us to be faithful. Even when situations become difficult. I am praying that God will raise up a new generation of faithful people, especially young people. It’s not easy for people today. Everyone seems to be under some kind of stress. Jesus said, “come unto me all you who labor and who are heavy laden and I will give you rest.” Our hope is in Christ. We need to learn how to trust in God and rest. Psalm 37:7 says, “Be still before the Lord, and wait patiently for him.”
Can we do that? Mount Zion we must allow God to do God’s work in and through our lives. Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to work in us, pray for one another, pray for our community, pray for peace and healing in our time.
